Salesforce.com has implemented a development environment that works only in their own Force.com platform and competes head-to-head with .NET and Java development environments. I have studied this approach and my issue is with the vendor lock-in that Salesforce.com is creating with this approach. What happens if Saleforce.com decides to change the rules in midstream or if the ISV decides to support other platforms....? Sorry, but won't happen without larger investments... Microsoft has been blaimed for vendor lock-in so my question is what people consider this to be....?
